Install Moodle > GUI OpenGL Implementation, documents > Tutorials > Install Moodle

Install steps

• Install tools: Apache, postgres, php5 and postgres-php5 complements
• Configure basic step's tools
• Download and depackage moodle-xxx.tgz in /var/www/

   sudo tar xzvf moodle-whatever.tgz -C /var/www

• Create moodledata directory

   mkdir /var/moodledata
   chown www-data:www-data /var/moodledata
   chown www-data:www-data /var/www/moodle

• Create moodle data base and moodleuser in postgres
• Install moodle trought browser

 Web address:        
 Moodle Directory:   /var/www/moodle
 Data Directory:     /var/moodledata
 Database host:      IP localhost
 Database name:      moodle
 Database user:      moodleuser
 Database password:  ****
 Table prefix:	The correct one from the table above
