MSc. in Modeling and Simulation
The MSc program in Modeling and Simulation is a joint academic initiative of the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and the Universidad Central, intended to create a high level postgraduate program in this field. The conjunction of their academic potential and resources enhances the applied research and technology transfer activities and projects in both institutions, while offering a high quality formation, according to international standards.
The Master program is designed to provide their students with strong competencies in the methodological and conceptual approach to research questions and the proposal of valid and useful solutions to specific problems in the fields of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Engineering, besides the mathematical formalization of numerical experimentation and data analysis. M&S methodologies and techniques will be applied to case studies from the Modeling Life Cycle point of view, supported by verification processes and conceptual validation in function of the analysis and interpretation of computer simulation results.
According to the colombian unversitary regulation, the Master program in Modeling and Simulation will be offered in both research (58 credits) and professionalization (50 credits) modalities, with an ideal duration of 4 semesters (16 weeks), Along this period, the students will take compulsory and optional courses as they are shown below. To obtain the Master Science degree in Modeling and Simulation. it is also necessary to develop and succesfully defend a Master's Thesis or Final Project, according to the modality chosen by each student.
